You Are Known by Matthew West

Many times we think in our life that people don’t want to know us. We walk around feeling used or manipulated. We want to fit in with people so we put on a persona that isn’t who we are. We hide from our true self. We run far and fast from the idea of being loved. We don’t feel loved because we feel people don’t want to know us. At the same time we don’t feel known by others because we don’t think we are loved or can be loved.

I’m not going to pretend like I know what love is. I’m, also, not going to pretend like I know what being known is like. Both are hard for me. There have been times in the past where I have been open with people but then they turn around and throw it back in my face. That’s definitely not being known. That’s DEFINITELY not love.

Lately, I do feel like I’m becoming known. I becoming KNOWN by our Father who created everyone of us. I learn more about Him daily when I read Scripture every morning and every night. He knows how I feel. He knows what I need. He loves me. Being known is being loved. Being loved is being known. Such a hard concept but there is so much beauty in it. Being known and loved by God allows you to be free. Free to be yourself.
