I’m sitting here on this bus in Kazakhstan thinking about this song I listened to this morning. After listening to it many times I never really understood it until now. God is teaching me something. I want you to listen to Ghost of Guy Clark by Aaron Watson before you continue reading.

Each of the verses can teach you something.

Verse 1: Am I going through the motions until I can no longer run? Don’t let yourself wither away before it’s over. Use your time wisely before the Lord calls you home or comes back. Ministry is life and life is ministry.

Verse 2: I’m not going to try and force something that to me isn’t there. If you see a deeper message in this verse, please let me know.

Verse 3: I see life in this verse. When people see Christians, they believe we are one in the same. They meet one “bad” Christian and they see us all the same way.

Verse 4: Are my words meaningless? Words have power. I’ve only got one life here on this Earth, am I giving it everything I got? We need to put weight on our words. Don’t be afraid of sharing the truth. Let your yes be yes and no be no.

Verse 5: I know, for me, it’s easier to write out my thoughts than speaking. When your words are coming from the heart, people respond in good ways. I feel like I have been writing with vulnerability and you guys are seeing that. I write these to show you that it’s okay to be vulnerable. These are meant to show God’s glory through my life. I do it for peace in my own soul, so I don’t have to carry baggage anymore. Tell until you can’t tell no more and then tell some more.

Verse 6: When you share your story and vulnerability with others, make sure they know how you feel. People connect better with emotions, which is something I am working on. I hope these blogs are helping you see what I see and that you will start forming your own questions that you need answers too. Hopefully, you feel the joy that I have when writing these. Or maybe, you can feel the weight that sin has produced in our lives. But, don’t let that take most of your time. Let your life reflect the LOVE God gave us!

Verse 7: Remember that the most effective word comes from the heart! Your heart will speak truth to others who hear or read. I lay my life down, so that you can you can be impacted in many ways. Let your heart and soul out into everything you do.

Hopefully, this taught you something as well it did me. Don’t take my word for anything either take it to God. Let him share with you new insights.

Love every one of you who I know and don’t know that reads this.
