I’m about to be very real with you here.
I’m sorry that I never told you. I didn’t know how to say it. Maybe I was too scared of what your reply would be. There are things in this that you may or may not know but now I’m saying it. Mostly, so I can finally forgive myself and start to trust myself again. I hope you can forgive me as well.
Even though it should’ve been me with arms spread wide open, someone didn’t think I deserved that death. Someone came to my rescue. Imagine being beaten left and right, carrying a tree up and down hills, knowing you are walking to your death. I’m getting ready to be hung up for the last time here on Earth because the world hates me. Then all of a sudden, I get lifted off of my cross and placed on the ground. I look up and see this person hanging in my place.
He looks straight at me and said, “I’m here to fight for you.“
I think to myself, “Why? Why would anyone fight for me?”
Without me saying anything, here comes the reply, “Remember the time you watched pornography? Remember the time when you had sex? Remember the time when you were a drunkered? I was tugging on you to stay away. I was fighting a battle you didn’t know was happening at the time. Then it was too late for you. But not for me. Satan wants to see you betray me but I am fighting for you constantly. I knew I could show you here at the cross what fighting the real fight is.“
“Now its your time to do what I did for you. Fight. Fight the good fight. Fight for others in my NAME and I will come upon them and save them. You are my vessel to tell others my story through your life.“
As I sit here and think upon this message, I started to think of something I read the other day. Deuteronomy 3:22
“You shall not fear them, for it is the Lord your God who fights for you.”
At first, we think that we don’t deserve someone fighting for us. But since the beginning when God created the earth, He was fighting for us. He set this plan in motion as soon as Adam and Eve took a bite. He knew we would be folly but that doesn’t matter to Him. He forgives our sin and fights like a lion protecting His pride. (Watch Lion King with a Kingdom mindset.) I know I need to do the same. Fight for my life. Fight for those around me. Fight for those I love.
