It all seems so crazy. Monday morning, I woke up in Gainesville, Georgia, but today (which is Wednesday for me,) I’m standing in a Thailand airport at about 4 in the morning with my team. Typical week right?
So let me inform y’all on what all has gone down.
So so training camp….oh….my….word. Y’all. To put it bluntly, training camp was one of the most Spirit filled, heart pounding, soul jerking, tear shedding times of my entire life. Every single sessIon. Every single worship song. Every team building activity. Every talk my team has had. God was there. One of the biggest take always from camp was actually meeting the Holy Spirit for the first time in my life. It seems so crazy that I always know about the Trinity, the Father, Son, and Spirit, but over time, I could only relate to two of those, the Father and the Son. This weekend of camp, showed me who the Holy Spirit was and how to connect with Him. That session was certainly impactful on not just me I’m sure. I had to let go of a few tears of my own one night because of how powerful He was to me.
Also over training camp, my team was able to build bonds with one another and grow relationships. It’s kind of funny how 9 people who met on a Thursday can already seem somewhat like a family the following Monday. Every day my team had talks about the day, what we were learning, how God was loving and moving us. We also did team activities to show how well we could work together as a team. Obviously, it was a little rough at first, but I feel as if my team killed it. Like any other team, mine is composed of people from around the country with different personalities. I say it’s only by God’s grace that we are able to get along so well together. However, we did just move out to start our 2 months together so let’s see what that brings! Me, being the super ultra mega shy person that I am and have always been, am starting to open up to them more which I’m so glad about. They also make it easy to open up to. God truly blessed me with an amazing team to call family for the next 2 months and I can’t wait to see what He does through each of them.
Well, our training camp journey ended this morning as we took the vans to the airport in Atlanta and got on planes to different parts of the globe. We first had a 16 (I’m pretty sure) hour plane ride to Shang Hai, China, and then flew from there to Bangkok, Thailand. Here our Thailand and Cambodia (Or what we have come to call ‘Thaibodia,’ team split into two groups and parted ways to do our missions. Well, my team stayed at the airport where we will sleep for the night, or for what’s left of it. In the morning we will be going to Chang Mai to do the work God called us to.
So pray for us as we travel to the other end of Thailand tomorrow and that God may show His grace, love, and power to us like He has been every day of this trip so far. Thank you all for reading this and I can’t wait to fill you all in another time!
