In the last three weeks there has been a lot of excitement here in Katy. Who knew the mission excitement would start before you actually leave?? My sister came to visit for a week which was really nice. Two weekends ago I finally had surgery. Since then I have been out of work for recovery but on workers compensation since this whole thing started with an injury at work. I feel a lot better and I am not really in pain anymore; I just wish I didn't have so many physical restrictions while recovering. I kind of want to put my full weight pack on and start walking the streets for "practice" but the doctor won't let me. So, to substitue, my brother and I are starting to walk up and down the bayous picking up trash until the bag gets too heavy for me to carry b/c of my restriction. He and I thought that was a good way to excercise and help the community. Really it was all his idea, but nonetheless a good one. I have had a lot of free time since I haven't been working so I started filling my time with making "sales calls," aka fundraising meetings. Not a large sucess yet, but that certainly doesn't mean I should stop trying. I have made the next step in the process and started my vaccinations and immunizations; who knew the world was so deadly?
It has been really interesting learning all these new things about the places we are expected to travel, but then again I just really like learning! I have also been working on travelers health insurance but that is taking longer than I thought it would. And there are a surprisingly large number of Ccompanies that provide that service. So anyways, step by step we'll get there. I just have to keep praying and praying that I don't get lazy or go crazy. I hope to return to work next week sometime and get back to the working lifestyle. And I'll try to do blogs more often because three weeks really is too long!? Until next time…
As He leads me,
Jason
