December/January debrief (month six debrief) was spent in Jinja, Uganda
sleeping in my hammock freezing my a$$ off and cooking over a fire because
AIM decided I would “grow” more if I was forced to sleep outside with the
50 people who overwhelm and generally frustrate me the most instead of
allowing this adult male to spend his personal money to sleep in a hotel
room 300 yards away. The entire debrief was complete sh!t filled with
nothing but stress and drama ending with Phillip (the other guy on our
team) quiting and going home followed by one other young woman from another
team leaving about two weeks later. To be clear, I support his decision to
leave and in no way hold any resentment towards him for his decision. I am
now alone in Rukungiri, Uganda with six woman whom I love and most often
like. Sundays we offer a sermon during an “English service” at a local
church. Mondays we work along side the head pastor of said church in doing
any number of evangelical tasks or anything he sees fit as ministry.
Tuesday through Friday we work at the clinic in town as counselors,
encouragers, prayer warriors, clean up crew and general volunteer. We have
a sweet 5 bed/5 bath house to live in with a detached wood burning kitchen
behind the house where I prepare supper every night. The house has
electricity and gravity fed running water (even though it is frigid cold
water it is nice). The house is located on top of a hill and has an amazing
view of the town and valley. Beginning on the 21st we are being joined by a
17 person team from another AIM mission group. We will have 25 people
living under one roof. Honestly this blog is more focused on the pictures
and delivering the necessary details than actually being helpful to anyone
in anyway. This is mainly because I am exhausted and can’t think of
anything better to say right now, but I want to keep you updated. Please
continue praying for my team and I and our whole squad. Africa is a very
new and challenging place for us especially when so many peoples hearts are
still in southeast Asia.

As He leads me,
Jason

Enjoy!!
