Forget the 10 commandments… for a moment and hear what Jesus has to say:

Jesus says, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” –Matthew 22:37-40

It was only recently that I paid proper attention to the last verse from this passage. God tells us that all the law and all the prophets hang on these two commandments. To be figurative, all the laws (including the 10 commandments) and all the prophets (along with all their works) would fall past the feet of God, through the floor, and straight to the flames of hell if they are not hung on a nail of Love. This is a Love for God and a Love for those around us.

The Lord convicted me that I need to stop trying to obey His Word and do works for Him just because of some false sense of obligation. I had been sharing the gospel with people as if to fulfill a spiritual checklist, but I want to love God because He first loved me. I want to love others the way Jesus Christ loved the sick, poor, and broken. As my launch date for the Worldrace draws near, please pray that God would help me empty me of myself and my sin. Please pray that He would fill me up with the Holy Spirit each day so that I may love Him more. Please pray so I may love the many people that I will encounter the way Jesus loved. Also, please let me know how I can pray for you! I have so much space for new prayer requests on my list and so much time to use for talking to the Lord.
