The “I am” List

1) I am God’s Child

John 1:12, “But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”

2) I am Christ’s friend

John 15:15, “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his Master is doing; but I have called you friends for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”

3) I have been justified

Rom 5:1, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord, Jesus Christ.”

4) I am united with the Lord, and I am one spirit with Him

1 Cor 6:17, “But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him”. 

5) I have been bought with a price. I belong to God.

1 Cor 6:20, “For you were bought with a price…”

6) I am a member of Christs body

1 Cor 12:27, “Now you are the body of Christ and individual members of it.”

7) I am a saint

Eph 1:1, “To the saints who are in Ephesus…”

8) I have been adopted as God’s child

Eph 1:5, “He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.”

9) I have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit

Eph 2:18, “For through him we both have access in one spirit to the Father. 

10) I have been redeemed and forgive of all my sins

Col 1:14, “…in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

11) I am complete in Christ

Col 2:10, “And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all rule and authority.”

12) I am free from condemnation

Rom 8:1-2, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Jesus from the law of sin and death.”

13) I am assured that all things work together for the good

Rom 8:28, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” 

14) I am free from any condemning charges against me

Rom 8:31-34, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

15) I can not be separated from the love of God

Rom 8:35-39, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written,

 ‘For your sake we are being killed all the day long;

we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.’

 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord”

16) I have been established, anointed, and sealed by God

2 Cor 1:21-22, “And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put His seal on us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee“ 

17) I am confident that the good work God has started in me will be perfected

Phil 1:6, “And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus.”

18) I am a citizen of heaven

Phil 3:20, “But our citizenship is in heaven and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”

19) I am hidden in Christ

Col 3:3, “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”

20) I have not been given a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind

2 Tim 1:7, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power, love, and self-control.”

21) I can find grace and mercy in time of need

Heb 4:16, “Let us then with confidence draw neer to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” 

22) I am born of God and the evil one can’t touch me

1 John 5:18, “We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him/.”

23) I am the salt and life of the earth

MAtt 5:13-14, “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

24) I am a branch of the true vine, a channel of His life

John 15:1 & 5, “1) I am the true vine and my and my Father is the vinedresser. 5) I am the vine; you are the branches, whoever abides in Me and I in Him, he is it that bears much fruit , for apart from Me you can do nothing.” 

25) I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit

John 15:16, “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give it to you.”

26) I am a personal witness to Christ

Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses to the end of the earth.” 

27) I am God’s Temple

1 Cor 3:16, “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?”

28) I am a minister of reconciliation for God

2 Cor 5:17-21, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God”

29) I am God’s coworker

2 Cor 6:1, “Working together with Him, then, we appeal to you no to receive the grace of God in vain.” 

30) I am sealed with Christ in the heavenly realm

Eph 2:6, “and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

31) I am God’s workmanship

Eph 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

32) I may approach God with freedom and confidence

Eph 3:12, “…in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in Him.”

33) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

Phil 4:13, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
