Yesterday here in Yuma it rained. Not just rained it poured. It was beautiful, and it hurt. The wind was blowing insanely hard, the rain was falling insanely hard, feeling sharp as it seemed to pierce your skin. Lightning cracked across the sky, and there was thunder loud enough to make grown men jump.

It was terrifying, and magnificent. In all this the sky was gray, and colorless. The storm was all that was in the sky, not an inch of blue to be seen. But in the end everything has been washed clean, buildings, roads, cars etc.  All clean, all new.

The storms of our lives are no different, colorless and often times painful.  They stay for a while and they are all we think of. We become engulfed in everything our problems are. We lose ourselves and believe we are nothing more than our problems.

This is absolutely not the case.

We are more than our problems.

We are more than our fears and insecurities.

We are more than our bad habits and failures.

We are more than conquerors.

We are children of the One True King.

At the end of the storm we are washed clean.

Too often we fall victim to the lies that Satan has conjured up for us. We fall victim to the little insecurities and fears he has set aside just for us. But we are greater than any of those lies, we are God’s people and we need to believe the truths he tells us.

You are beautifully and wonderfully made.

You can do all things through Him.

He will finish what He starts.

He loves you.

Only then can we be cleaned and made new. When we choose not to believe in the lies Satan tells us. When we believe that God is in control and he loves us.  When we let the rain run its course but not consume us.

If I’m being genuinely honest with myself yeah raising this money is terrifying. Where the in the world am I going to get this money? I sometimes wonder if it will come at all. I fall into Satan’s lie that God will not provide for me, as many of us do. But God provides for the birds and the flowers and the trees. Are we not greater than these? Are we not God’s children? He is a good, good, good Father and a good Father provides for his children.  God provided the Call, and he will provide the means to do so as well. That doesn’t just go for me, that goes for you too. If you are following what God wants you to do he will provide for you. Pray unceasingly. Dive into the word. Believe with child-like faith. Please, also keep me in your prayers!
