I am aware that there will be many hurdles along the World Race, and the first of them I am finding out is fundraising. Why do I have to raise this money? How do I raise this money? How will I get the gear and vaccinations that I need for the race?
Well, let’s take it a step at a time…
Why do I have to raise this money? The simple answer: because I do. The real answer: because it won’t raise itself. Fundraising is a key part of this journey, and is hard in this world. We are taught by the world that everything we have we have to work for and can do with as we please…however that is not entirely true. everything we have has been given to us by God to use for His glory. And because of that simple fact, I am asking you to prayerfully consider partnering financially with me on the World Race journey. Every bit helps! If you can’t afford a lot, pray about a small amount like $11 for 11 months, for it isn’t how many dollars someone gives, it’s about the support and knowing that you stand beside me in this journey. All I’m asking of you is to prayerfully consider partnering with me financially and to give as the Lord leads you to.
How do I raise this money? Now that’s an interesting one…I don’t raise it, per se. It is through the Lord that this money will come. What are means of that? Here’s the starter list:
- Click on the “Become a Financial Partner” link to the left or the “Support Me” button floating on the bottom. This will bring you to the giving site. My name should automatically fill in (if not, please put it in). You can give through an online charge to your card or bank account (these 2 methods charge a small processing fee to my account, so I don’t get every penny of your donation), there is also instructions there to give through mail (this has no fee, but can take a couple weeks to show in my fundraising account). - You can also set up a monthly automatic recurring gift through dynapay by clicking here. Dynapay is awesome because there is NO FEE and it only takes a couple days after each month’s recurring charge to show up on my fundraising account. Simply fill out the secure online form, making sure to put “Jason Croshaw-World Racer” on the “Which Person or Purpose to Support” line! This will assure donations are correctly credited to my account. (100% Tax Deductible)
- I will be doing several fundraisers! The first one will be selling bracelets with the World Race website on them and I will begin selling them as soon as my first order comes in (which should be in the next week). I will be asking for a minimum $2 donation for these with 100% of proceeds going to my fundraising account, when you see me, ask me if I have them yet! (Not tax deductible, but you get a bracelet to remind you to pray for me and is a cool conversation starter in line at the store!)
- The next fundraiser will be selling t-shirts! Who doesnt like a nice t-shirt? Design and price coming soon! (I’m working out the design with the printers now.) Subscribe to my blog to make sure you don’t miss the official design announcement! 100% of profit will go to my account from these. (Not tax deductible, but you get an awesome shirt, the same one you will see me sporting on the race!)
How will I get the gear and vaccinations I need for the World Race? That is an awesome question! Most of the items on the packing list are things like clothes, toiletries, etc. which I already have/can easily pick up at the store. However, some of the items are not so easy to pick up at the store. For this, I have set up a myregistry account. These items are linked to their Amazon ads, however (with the exception of the backpack) a matching item from another source is awesome too! The backpack needs to be specific to my needs and body, and the one I have listed has everything I need in it. If you want to help with the vaccination cost, let me know and I will tell you how you can do that!
