The World Race, what is that? The world race is an awesome opportunity to go share the Love of God with the people of 11 countries over 11 months! It’s the opportunity to let those who may not know it that God loves them, and that He sent Jesus with 1 mission: to be the perfect sacrifice so that EVERYONE can have eternal life!
The Great Commission is pretty clear: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV)
Here Jesus is also pretty clear: “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’” (Matthew 5:34-40 ESV)
These 2 passages mesh together pretty well with a quote that I have always liked: “Preach the Gospel at all times, when necessary use words.”
That is what the World Race is about to me, preaching the Gospel to the world, whether it’s by using the Word, or by serving and showing God’s amazing love for everyone regardless of their story!

(PS-Yes, I know my picture is a tacky looking one, but hey, at least I am in front of the camera instead of behind it for a change! And bonus points to anyone who can tell me where it was taken!)
