My first few days in central Honduras couldn’t have been any better!  Our ministry this month is perfect in my eyes. Manual labor and showing love to Gods beautiful children who are part of a childrens home that is run Family Style.  To the children here, the amazing people that run this home, are Mommy and Daddy.  For the safety of the kids we have been asked not to put any pictures of them on the internet.

So far we have began to clear brush with machete’s and weed eat thick grasses from a currently drained pond.  This pond when cleared and filled will be one of a couple tilapia fish ponds to provide food and income for this home.  God has BIG plans for the people here, this ministry, and the children here.

Yesterday me and the men of my team played a soccer game with locals for about 2 hours.  It was raining as we began, but quickly cleared up to be beautiful weather to play soccer.  While the other team mostly had cleats, us foreigner’s had much more fun sliding around and playing more on our butts than our feet! Despite having a 6 to 5 lead at one point the Honduran quickly came out in the other kids and we were outscored 6 to 1 the last half of the game.  Everyone enjoyed the game, and smiles of true happiness shined bright on the faces of us all!

Sunday evening for the first time in my life I prepared a little service for everyone in the home.  I volunteered to do the first service, and faced my fear of speeches, and just trusted in God to give me guidance on the situation.  I dont know much about the Bible, but I have a lot of love to share.  Who would have guessed that after some listening prayer, that God would show me that the topic of the night for me would be just that. LOVE. Something these awesome children want, and desperately need, to break free from the terribly sad and tragic pasts that the Lord has saved them from.  God got me through it, and to my suprise, I really enjoyed being a light for these children.

There is no internet at our location with beautiful scenery, so blogs for the month may be spotty being we have to go to and internet building in town. Know that I am in the Lords hands and His will is being done on the other side of the planet! (And ofcourse much fun is to be had)
