I found Jesus in Jail. I was in jail for 10 days in March of 2012 for a dwi I had been charged with 3 years earlier at the age of 19.  Minus some details thats the jist of it. Christians and people seem to always love hearing my testimony.  I never knew why. I guess its great to hear about how someone bad found God in a place like jail.  I would have to agree a little, because I feel the same way when I hear testimonies about drug addicted, alcoholics who found God and are now working for His Kingdom. However, it bugs me that so many people get wrapped up in the story of HOW people found God. Stories are good, but stories like these begin to make the people that have known Jesus their entire lives think that they dont have a good testimony. I want to change that thought.

Every single born again christian has and AMAZING testimony. In the book of Luke chapter 15, Jesus tells a story of the son who left home. Some of you may know this as the story of the prodigal son. Its a great strory and I encourage you to read it. For the sake of keeping my blog short I will skip to the end at how the father of the story responds to his elder son who is angry for excepting his younger brother with love and compassion after squandering the fortune that he was given, when he had saved his fortuned and continued to work the land with his father and tend to the livestock.

The father responded to his sons anger by saying “Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. We had to celebrate and be happy because your brother was dead, but now he is alive. He was lost, but now he is found.”

Im here to tell you how blessed you are, who have had Jesus in your life before you can even remember. Everything that He has was given, and has been freely given to you at such a young age.  Yea being lost and then found might make for a good story from the outside. But for me personally, and for many others I have heard this to be true, we would love to have known Jesus our whole lives. To have not been dead and lost for so long. To have known a love like the one we have found later in life, at a much younger age! For you that dont think you have a good testimony to share. You are completely wrong. You were not dead long before becoming Alive in Christ and haveing available to you ALL that He has. So our testimonies are really all the same.  We were all dead. BUT we are now surely ALIVE! We have been born again through JESUS and the Father who made it all possible. God doesnt pick favorites. Personally, YOU’RE testimony is the one I wish now that I had!
