Here it is. My final recap video of my entire year. Probably one of my favorites because it’s full of so many adventurous moments, cherished memories, and people from all over the world who hold a special place in my heart. Making this has helped me process so much, and I think it has also helped me better describe what the past year of my life looked like to others.
I love making videos, I love photography, and I love capturing special moments to look back on later. And I love how the Holy Spirit uses things as simple as photography and videos for the Kingdom. It amazes me!!
Before the race, I wasn’t going to be able to take a DSLR with me. I wasn’t able to take my families. I didn’t have money to buy my own. But, boy did my heart yearn to have one for the race. Because I kept hearing how you would be able to capture some of the most beautiful pictures and videos during this year. And if you love photography this is something you need to invest in for the race.
So up until launch, I prayed that somehow God would supply me with a DSLR. Somehow. And I fully had faith in His ability to do so. But it didn’t happen. I left the United States in September with a compact point and shoot camera. And it was good quality, but it just wasn’t what I wanted. So in Month 4 a fellow squad mate asked if I wanted to use her Canon Rebel T3i for the month because she was tired of carrying the weight of it. Well I didn’t hesitate for a second. I was thrilled to have it even for a month. Best part!? She ended up letting me use it for the rest of the race!! And now that I’m home, I’ve decided to buy it from her. Because it kind of just holds a special place in my heart. It’s that small item that God didn’t have to give me, but He did.
Why? Because He cares about the details, ya’ll!!
If you ever think He doesn’t, just take a closer look and pray for the eyes to see. He didn’t have to supply me with a camera, but He knew it would be that one thing I could use to pour out my creativity. He didn’t have to supply me with a camera, but He knew it was that other thing that brought me alive. I loved being behind the camera. And I know I have so much to learn, but I can’t wait to keep learning.
So here it is, one final highlight video that sums up my entire year. I hope it blesses you. I hope it gives you joy, laughter, love, and hope. Because God is doing some incredible things in the nations, and this doesn’t even touch the surface.
“Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told.”
