Hello all!
As you may or may not know, my name is Jasmine Roeder and I am currently on track to graduate high school from Robert Morgan in Miami, Florida. During my four years in high school God put it on my heart and revealed to me that a life of comfort was not for me. Since then He has allowed for me to go on seven mission trips, where four of them have been international to Haiti and El Salvador and soon Spain over the summer of 2014.
During the course of each trip, Christ used the time away from the comfort of my home to teach me new lessons not only about myself but also about the people around me both close and far from home. While away on these trips He has taught me that we are all one body of Christ and that regardless of our past, of our origins, of our ethnicity, we are all one body. On other trips Christ has also taught me that nothing I do on this Earth will ever be enough if I do it on my own. These trips have shown me that despite my efforts of providing medical or basic care to the people overseas, they will continue to be in need. However, if when I go I can show them the love of Christ and the satisfaction of having a relationship with Him, they will have something greater to look forward to. Despite the troubles of this Earth, the love of our Father can help us overcome anything.
I am so excited to start my journey with Christ on this Gap Year in September! I’m not going to lie, I’m actually very nervous about going on this trip because of things like not knowing anyone else going, how long it is, and how crazy this trip is if you really think about it! BUT I’m also so ready to do it. One other thing I am nervous about is the cost of this trip..but I KNOW my God will provide the money for me if He wants me to go. If He can provide my salvation, what’s $12,000?! Please continue to keep me in your prayers and if you could help me financially, that would mean the world to me!
