So our flight to Cambodia was not too bad. We left Manila At 5pm, had a 6 hour layover in Singapore and got to Cambodia around 9am. It turns out
all 38 of our backpacks stayed in Singapore for a bit! The
conversation on the plane with the stewardess kinda went like this,
“You have 38 people?”
“Yes. we do”
“Oh ok, you need your bags right?”
“Uhhh, yes we would love to have our
bags with us”
“Oh ok, we try to find [worried
look]”.
We delayed the plane about an hour as they
tried to find our bags and they ended up telling us that the 38 bags found would
arrive in Cambodia
the next morning. Praise God nothing was stolen!
Now i am in Phnom Penh, but my team and I will be going
to Kampot tomorrow with our new friend Vuthy! It is 2 hours away and we will be living with the local villagers!
Our transportation will be bikes!! hooray, I love bikes!!! Our shower will be
bucket and water and we have electricity via generator. I’m not quite sure if
there will be internet cafes near by.
Our ministry will consist of teaching English
classes, leading sports camps, bible studies, worship, hanging out with
preschoolers and teaching hip hop classes!! Yes, hip hop classes! Now my
question is “Is there anyone that can teach us hip hop so we can teach the
classes?!!” Sabrina, I need you LOL! Oh
the randomness, I love it. That’s the World Race for you so spontaneous. Our
team flew over to Cambodia
not knowing where we would be staying or what ministry we would be doing. We
just found out the details this morning and we’re super pumped! Kampot here we
come!
That’s all for now, here’s a video about the
village we will be staying at.
