God is so amazing! About 2 weeks before launch (Sept !3) I had $1744 in my account for the World Race. I prayed and believed that God would fully fund me before launch and guess what?! He did!! On sunday Sept 12 (the day before launch) raised over $10,000 which was enough to fully fund me on my mission trip for 11 months!!! It still blows me away!! Over $10,000 in one day! So I am fully funded, HOWEVER, my teammates still need to raise funds so if you still want to give please give to them. UPDATE:
I’m currently in Mindanao, Cebu. We are working with Kids International Ministry (KIM). It’s absolutely gorgeous here and its not too hot! I hear that this is our easy country because we have “beds”, fans and mosquitos that don’t carry malaria (just dengue fever). We won’t be as fortunate in other countries.
Our ministry consists of helping out at the orphanage, going to the local prison to talk to the inmates as well as teaching the minors how to read and write and doing manual labor around the orphanage.
It’s amazing to see the inmates sing worship songs and be joyful. They said that they felt touched that people would come across the world just to have a conversation and spend time with them.
I’m so blessed to have an opportunity to be here. One of the things that our directors said was important during training was to be willing to change and be willing to abandon the life we knew in the states so that God can use us to the fullest. I am so excited for this change to take place in my heart yet I know that it will be difficult, but I want to change for the better. I want to serve God’s kingdom to the fullest and to spread His light in dark places.
We were soo jet lagged on the first day and our directors decided us to help us stay awake by taking us on an adventure. This was a 2 hour ride on jeepney on our way to the waterfall…
