Playing soccer with the kids.

Today is Saturday at training camp.  Our assignment is called “Ask The Lord”
We are to go to town and work for God to bless His people.
We gathered around in a circle and prayed thanking God and asking Him to speak to us and give us pictures and direction.         Then we waited.  Was going going to speak?  We waited.
Soon each one of my teammates saw a picture in their mind.  One by one they shared what they were seeing as I jotted it down in my notepad.
The pictures and thoughts they saw are as follows.
–    the color blue

–    old woman in kitchen
–    woman sweeping in bread store
–    dirty face, skinny, yellow shirt
–    little boy wearing a red shirt
–    control and addiction on yellow shirt woman
–    soccer field
–    open window
–    elbow
–    an umbrella
–    itsy bitsy spider song
–    II Corin. 5:14- Christ love compels us

We took our Holy Spirit given clues and went to town and walked as we prayed.

We saw a blue building so walked that direction.

We split up into two groups and walked some more.

As we walked we came together a few blocks down and met up.  Even though we split up the Lord  directed our steps together again.

Then we came to a turn sign that represented a turn in the road (elbow) coming up.  I knew we were on the right track.

As we walked further we came upon kids playing in their driveway.  We asked them if they wanted to play soccer.  After a while of playing soccer a car pulled in the driveway.

In the car was a lady in a yellow shirt with a little boy in a red shirt with a dirty face!  We were on track.

As we played the three girls who Rachel felt should be together earlier when we split in to groups prayed with the woman who drove up.

The house she lived in had a broken window (the open window).  Amy let her know that God was going to release her and her family from (control and addiction).

Then the little boys asked if we would like to go to a church parking lot (soccer field) up the road to play instead of the street.

When we arrived
Scott, Amanda, Amy, and I walked across the street looking for a restroom.

We saw a Mexican bakery and went in looking for the (old woman in kitchen).

I remembered the vision one of us had of the woman sweeping and an old woman in a bread bakery so I said to the others, “We’re here, so where is the lady with the broom!”  As I was speaking a lady came swinging around the corner with a mop.  It was so funny.  We tried to talk with her but she didn’t know English and we didn’t know Spanish.

We walked back across the street and played with the kids some more.  After a while we said bye to the children and walked down the street looking for a place to eat dinner.

It was so amazing to watch the story unfold as we followed the clues as to what God wanted us to do that day which is always  to bless others.  Our God is so loving.

Praise Jesus, mission accomplished.
