Last month we got to…

build a compost for the children’s home we were staying at.

and visit a coffee plantation

We also had a bible study with the boys at the children’s home, played soccer, and went to the barrios to play with the children and teach the bible through play acting.

The children at this home impressed me so much.  They were up at 4:30 every morning worshiping the Lord.  Many times I was woken by their singing.  One night they took turns staying up guarding the property because the guard was on vacation.  They told me there is a thief they are trying to catch that was coming around to steel the sheep during the night.

There were many festivals in the town during the time we were there.  Most of them are to celebrate saints that have passed away.  Our contact said they have around 60 national holidays.  During these holidays the streets were full of people drinking and shooting fireworks.

One night Amy and I saw some missionaries from Louisiana playing a concert in the park square.  What a great tactic since the people really enjoy music and the park is always full of people.

Till next time God bless you all and thank you for your prayers, we are having fun and the pictures probably look great but there is still much warfare and attacks of the enemy, like the time our airplane got caught in a storm and was shaking and the flight attendant told us to locate the exit nearest to us while we were still hundreds of feet in the air and a lady on board went into a panic attack for 30 minutes screaming out the window.  Wow praise God for the prayers of you saints!
