Hello January Squad!
wonderful to “officially” meet all of you! 🙂 My name is Jessica McVey
and I am here to help you through the Support Raising Process. I
thought you might like to know a little more about the “woman behind the
curtain” before we dive in.
Madison,WI–don’tcha know. 😉 I grew up in a Christian home knowing
about Jesus, but didn’t come into relationship with him until 2005. I
can tell you more about this story at another time. I knew early on in
my relationship with the Lord that He was calling me to do something
radical and different–thus he lead me to missions and The World Race.
My
World Race journey began in October 2008-G Squad. This was my very
first mission experience and the Lord used it to open my eyes and burden
my heart for something much greater than myself–seeing His Kingdom
come all over the world!
This brings me to you. About three
months after returning from the race, I went on staff at AIM in the
logistics department of The World Race. I had my first taste of support
coaching with O Squad (June 2010) and felt rather strongly that this
was something the Lord was calling me to be a part of. Like you,
support raising continues to be a part of my journey. I have some great
stories about how God has shown up in this area of my life and others,
which I will be more than happy to share with you!
Your second
support goal of $2000 is coming up on August 18th! Some of you are
already at or beyond this goal, while others are working their way
there…and some of you may just be freaked out by the whole idea all
together. No matter where you are, I am here to help. Call me or
e-mail me anytime and I will help walk you through this process.
I
want you to know that my job is to encourage you! When a deadline
comes around, if you have less than the goal amount, I need you to call
an talk to me. Please understand that this is not a time for me to kick
and scream at you–it is a time for us to talk and work together to
help you reach your the next goal. Please don’t hesitate to call me
when the time comes. I look forward to talking to you and hearing your
stories about how the Lord is showing up for you in this process!
If
you don’t call me when the time comes, I can’t help you. My goal is to
advocate for you…to go to the logistics team and tell them “I know
this person doesn’t have enough money to purchase a plane ticket yet,
but I’ve talked to them and it’s on the way!” But I can’t vouch for you
if we aren’t in communication with one another and then we have to have
some harder conversations. So let’s keep in touch and make sure this
isn’t ever the issue!

look forward to learning more about you and the journey the Lord has you
on in this season!
