A couple of times we have done some evangelism in the mornings and yesterday (Friday) morning God totally blew me away! The night before (Thursday) I was struggling so much with who God said I was and was doubting that I even had a role and purpose here. Since we got to Africa, Satan as been attacking my identity in Christ in a blunt way and it is to my face. I have been told since I have been here that I do not love Jesus because I do not dance and that since I do not speak in tongues that God cannot use me at all or in any mighty way and that those who do not are a disgrace to God. I know those are all lies, but satan as a way of getting in and messing with my head. I can see how God has been working in my life and has brought me so far with my identity in Him since Nicaragua. Luckily I have a wonderful team who lifted me up and prayed for me and are fighting with me!
So back to yesterday morning . . . Matthew and I went with Rev. Joseph to a nearby neighborhood while the others went with Rev. Joyce. I was thinking that Matthew should do the majority of the talking and I would be praying in the background and if God gave me anything to say I would not hesitate to say it. Well I did pray the majority of the morning but it was entirely in a different way than I had expected! I took the time to talk with these three little girls and because of once again getting out of my comfort zone, I ended up talking and praying for the majority of the family- from the great grandma all the way to those adorable grand kids and great grand kids! God just amazes me still- when we are obedient to Him, He turns around and blesses us and those around us! When we were getting ready to move on to the next house, a guy came up to me and asked for prayer. He is a soccer player and wanted to be a Ghana star soccer player- that is his dream. His dream is not coming true and because of that he has stopped believing in Jesus and no longer goes to church. I knew right then that this was another opportunity from God- you see I had been struggling with the dreams we have for our lives and those God has when we first got to Asia (click here to read that blog!). I knew exactly what God wanted me to share with him and it was amazing to be able to relate to someone and to be able to share with them what I have found out about that!
