SMASHED!!!!!
So we made it to Nigeria safe and sound and are working with Master’s Life ministry here in Lagos. We will mostly be doing Evangelism (door to door, hospitals, schools) and more preaching and teaching at their church. The pastor and his wife are such a blessing and have opened up their home to us! Mama Joy makes sure we have everything we need and is continually cooking for us and loving on us.
On the second night we were here, they bug sprayed (Fleet the room) the rooms we are staying in and we waited a bit to go inside so the fumes would die down. Well as you all know, there tends to be more bugs who come out at first when it gets sprayed before they die and well let’s just say I have never seen as many cockroaches as I did that night!!! They were everywhere and our wonderful men (Will and Andy) rose to the challenge and had a killing party of all of the bugs that came out (some pretty big spiders as well!). We thought we had killed them all and were getting ready to do our family/feedback time on one of the beds, when a cockroach comes crawling up from the wall and ends up crawling on Christina- let’s just say that all of us girls were screaming and running out of the room, while our amazing men came to our rescue and made sure that one died J And of course the guy’s room had maybe one or two spiders and nothing else that needed to be killed J
It was a funny night and one that bonded us closer. There are some stories and experiences that happen on the race that you hope you never have to experience again and this was one of them J(and I hope that do not see as many cockroaches again as I did this past night!!!)
