When I heard we were going to Guatemala, I thought that I would be surrounded by heat and humidity, but living in La Cama is not what I expected weather wise! The weather changes frequently and although most days are sunny, the nights are freezing! We all have awesome tans from working in the sun during the day, but nights are a different story! Chelsea, a girl on my team who is also from Arizona, and I are not really used to it being this cold and have taken to bundling up in as many clothes as possible J So thank you dad for telling me to bring gloves and yes- I should have brought hot hands too! And thank you Jess for telling me to bring a long sleeve shirt!!!

The community here has been amazing! They saw that we were so cold at night and they came together and brought us blankets to use while we are here! Then this past week it was supposed to get even colder at night so they brought us even more blankets to use, some from their own houses! Then this church and another church, which Pastor Manuel has started, pitched in together to buy us a coffee maker so we would always have hot water to make tea and coffee. This community just keeps on giving and is such a blessing to us! This community is teaching me how to give and put others before yourself
