Village #2
In each village we went to, we would go to people’s houses and pray for them- mostly for healing. Honestly, I really struggled with the healing aspect and I still do not understand how it works, but God spoke more about this to me during our time in the second village. I really struggled, especially in the first village, of praying healing over people and then it seemed like nothing happened. We prayed for a lady who had a problem with bleeding in her nose and she had blood all in her mouth. When we got done praying for her, I truly believed that the blood would be gone- it wasn’t. But Jordan told me what God told her back in Nicaragua that really helped me with all that was going through my head. God is the ULTIMATE healer!!! When we have a cold and when it is gone, it is God who healed us- whether it took a day or 2 weeks. He is the healer! It gave me a brand new perspective- that God heals ALL the time and even though He may not heal right away it does not mean that He cannot do it. God will heal us- it is just His timing and in His ways, not our own.
So in our second village there was this older woman (I am guessing she was in her late 70s to early 80s). Her whole left side was numb, her left foot felt like it was burning, and she could not feel anything in her left hand- just numbing. The pastor asked if she would like us to pray for healing for her and she said yes. As we went into her house I saw a spirit house hanging in her home. (Just so you know, Buddhism has spirit houses- where they believe that if you hang a spirit house in your house, a spirit will come and live in it and protect you from harm. If you give it offerings- things like food or drink- then it will protect you even more. They also have this yarn belt that they wear. When they are younger monks pray over this yarn and then as a child they wear this belt and never take it off. This belt is like a teacher- that knows everything about you. It reminded me of a demonic , evil, and twisted version of the Holy Spirit). These spirit houses are in a way worshipping satan. They talked with her about removing her spirit houses and her yarn belt. They invited her to church the next morning and guess what- she came!!!
She came all by herself and it just amazed me. At the end of the service we were going to pray for her and cut off her yarn belt and lo and behold she had already cut it off!!!! I was one of the ones that got to pray over her and I felt so blessed! What faith she had that God would heal her! She abandoned everything she had known- traditions, Buddhism, most likely parts of her family- to have the faith that God would heal her!!!! She gave up her idols and turned to follow the only One who could heal her and show her how much He loves her!!!! I felt so blessed to pray over her and knew that God was so proud of her! After we got done praying there was no immediate healing, but I knew in my heart that God is going to heal her- whether it was a couple days later to a month or year later or even in heaven- but one day she will be healed! This woman touched my heart and please continue to pray for her with me!
