This morning at church, my college pastor spoke about having a dangerous faith and it made me think about this trip! So here is what he said in a nutshell . . .
Having a dangerous faith is having an unpredictable faith. We will not know everything- we are on a need to know basis. So many times I want to know everything- where my life will be in five years, when this dream will come true, etc. But we only get to see glimpses of the big picture- we only see steps or even sometimes the smallest of steps of what that big picture is. God sees everything and already knows what the big picture is, so all we have to do is trust Him! We do have an unpredictable faith- it all depends on how we take it- will we run from it or will we embrace it and look to God for the next amazing chapter in our lives?
Having a dangerous faith also means that we do not serve a safe God! Look at the way demons in the Bible tremble before God: “When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won’t torture me!” For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you evil spirit!”” ~ Mark 8:6-8.
Evil is truly scared of God and we have that power within us! Let the power of God be unleashed in our every day life! Evil should be running away and be scared of us! We have that power- the Holy Spirit- within us! Just imagine how we could truly change the world for God if we had that dangerous faith that evil spirits ran from! We need to take hold of God’s power and let Him be in complete control- God can and wants to do so much through us! We just need to be a willing vessel and have that heart that just wants to serve Him and give Him all the glory!
*God is calling us to do something new and unpredictable every day of our lives! Are we up to the challenge? Will we serve God with all that we are, even if the road is not safe or predictable- making us get out of our comfort zones? God uses unconventional ways to reach the world for Him and His glory- are we going to follow and trust Him completely? God is ready and waiting- will we say “Here Am I LORD, send me”?*
