Our last day or so in Serbia we were blessed to
be able to spend it with our amazing contacts! They invited us over to their house with a couple of other people we got to know from the church for a BBQ. And oh my gosh how good it was!!! It was so good and it felt like we were back home
On Monday night our train was supposed to leave at
midnight so we had all day to pack, do last minute laundry, and of course go eat at our favorite place- Gyros ( I just wish we could have found this place in the beginning not towards the end of our time in Serbia!)!!! The owners were s
o nice and even though they did not speak that much English, they still talked to us every time we went in there. Then later that night our contacts took us to a place where we could get pizza and enjoy some dinner with them. It was really nice just being able to talk with them a little more and spend some more time with them.
Luckily our contacts called the train station ahead of time and found out
that our train was running late so we left around 11:30pm or so for the train station. And when we got to the train station the train was now even later and then it ended up being
about 45 min. to an hour later than it was supposed to be (which worked out fine because we had to wait in Budapest, Hungary for the next train, so we just waited less time!). There was a concert in a neighboring city or country so there was a lot of people this train and we got to cram a lot of us luggage and us into
already full compartments J Waited around in Budapest about 6am in the morning. And then God blessed us so much by there not being that many people on this train so we got to spread out and get some much needed sleep (this train had compartments that reminded me of Harry Potter and the Hogwarts train J). We arrived in Bucharest, Romania around 2 am Wed. morning. And we discovered that the train we needed to take left at 3:40am but that the ticket counter did not open until
4 am. But thankfully we had Josh and April with us, who figured out a way to get us one- you just have to talk to the conductor J So we got on the train at the right time and actually got to stay in sleeper cars (which was exactly what was needed) and most of us slept the whole ride to Moldova! The cool thing was that while waiting at the train station in Romania, we ran into another World Race group (who are in their 2nd month J ) and they were on their way to Targu Mures (where we had been in Romania!). It was nice to chat with them for a couple minutes and it is getting us more and more excited for Awakening in Aug./Sep!!!
So about 36 hours later we arrived in Moldova and are safe and sound! We have been catching up on some sleep/rest and catching up with some people from other teams. We should be leaving tomorrow for ministry and I am so excited to see what God is going to be doing some BIG things here in Moldova!!!! Please be keeping us in your prayers and for what God is going to be doing!!!!!
