Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone is getting to spend today doing what they love (probably eating) with the people they love and feeling thankful, grateful, and blessed. I opted out of driving home to Virginia for Thanksgiving this year in order to save money, but after eating leftover Chinese takeout for breakfast, I’m starting to question my decision. Instead of daydreaming about the soft, buttery rolls, the savory gravy drowning my mashed potatoes, a mug of hot apple cider with just dash of nutmeg on top, and the hush of silence as everyone falls into a food-coma after their third slice of pumpkin pie, I’m going to focus on the “harvesting” happening right here in sunny Gainesville, FL.

First of all, I am BEYOND THANKFUL for my friends, family, and even some family members of friends that have donated to support my mission trip. We raised over $1,000 within the FIRST WEEK! What an incredible feeling to know there are people out there who believe in me and this trip.

Additionally, I am thankful for the “me-time” this Thanksgiving break has provided me. I have gotten to spend time preparing for my assessment project and law final, volunteering at the Humane Society with my friend from church (and decided it wouldn’t be the worst lifestyle to return from the World Race and be a crazy-cat-lady with a golden-doodle), watching Moana the day it came out, and I’ve been to Michael’s craft store so many times this week that I have started to slightly altar my appearance each visit so they don’t get suspicious.

With all this time off, trips to Michaels, and the spirit of ThanksGIVING, I’ve “harvested” an idea:

I will be GIVING away a free ornament, hand-crafted by yours truly, to everyone that donates at least $20 this week! Each ornament is unique, double sided, and “world traveler” themed. A few of the ones I have already made are pictured below:

I am thankful for your support!
