It’s officially October, and we are officially in the Philippines! Can you believe it?

I’m still getting used to the idea that this is my reality for the next 11 months. The reality is a complete giving up of my rights and a complete dive into the unknown waters of God’s mysterious love and power. We’re doing training until the end of the week, and we’re staying at a ministry location that is treating us like kings and queens. We have showers, beds, and wonderful meals. The luxury is soon ending however, as Team Judah will be heading to the dumps!

I have been told that there are about 4,000 people who currently live in the dump here in Manila. My team is going there to aid a ministry that is already in existence, and we’ll be spending our days at a school in the middle of the dump. I’m not sure what age of kids go there, or even how many will be there. I do know that this is going to be an extremely humbling experience, and I’m so excited to see how God wants to mold us and make us into extravagant lovers. I’m sure it will be painfully hard, but all good things come with a price, right?

That is what we have been called to be as children of God: extravagant lovers. There is no way I could go to the places I’m going and love the people I will be meeting without first knowing the extravagant love of the Creator of the universe. His love is exploding in my heart, but I need more of it. I need to be drowned in his love each and every day. So that is my prayer, and I challenge you to join me in asking God for that very thing not only in my heart but also in yours. God wants to use you to love the dying world right around you. It’s time we stop talking about the love of God and start LIVING IT!
I’ll hopefully be able to write more soon. Thank you so much for your love, support, and prayers. You have helped me make it this far and will be a vital part in carrying me throughout this journey. It will be tempting to want to quit when this all becomes painfully uncomfortable, but that is where God has called us to be: uncomfortable. It’s there we see his face and humbled by his love.

So…if you’re wanting more of God, find YOUR place of discomfort and go there. He’ll meet you in your weakness!

Love you all!
