In this world: Love, Compassion, Sacrifice = Crazy

Okay as many of you may know 15,500 for an 11 month trip sounds like its a lot of money (Crazy)  but what is it really for? Its not just a trip, not just to travel it's so much more than that. Its a movement. A movement of Love and Compassion. It is a lesson in sacrifice. I may be gone for 11 months missing my friends and family, my bed, a daily shower and a hot meal but in all reality none of those things matter if we constantly take them for granted. What better way to learn about life, love and sacrifice (Jesus lived it, why not me). Best way to understand is to "walk in their footsteps".  Jesus said it, "Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men" Matthew 4:19. I am going on this trip to help others so that they may survive here on earth but even more importantly to help them survive forever after this life is over. My going on this trip will cause me to sacrifice all I know and "follow him". I want to be like the fisherman, "At once they left their nets and followed him" Matthew 4:20. I have always known the Lord and have always had a hard time fully incorporating him into my life because I like what the world provides way too much to fully let it go. I feel that the Lord has given me the opportunity to go on this trip to really nudge me (okay maybe totally shove me) in the direction I have always wanted to go, but never been able to. So yes this trip sounds crazy but the lessons and experiences with people who live much more humble lives are worth millions more! It's about helping others, but I really think that they will be helping me. Let me leave you with an example of what I mean. An experience that some World Racers posted… only one of many amazing experiences in their 11 month trip!
