How I ended up where I am today…
I grew up Catholic, went to private school from 4th to 8th grade. I feel that I was one of the few kids at that actually paid attention in religion class and really took it to heart. I remember my first communion in 4th grade being the first time I accepted Christ in my life. I went on to high school where I did my confirmation and again I confirmed my faith in Christ. I would help with the churches high school youth group. At that point I was totally a believer, but I was still figuring myself out, trying to see where I fit in. I had fallen away from the church until summer going into my senior year of high school. I was invited to my high schools Young Life summer camp called Woodleaf, and as it is always stated there it definitely was “the best week of my life” or at least a very significant week. I recommitted my life that summer in August 2005. I went to summer camp the next year, then became a Young Life Leader from 2007 to 2010. Young Life and the leaders were a huge part of my Christian journey, a journey I am still working on today. In the years between 2005 and now, I have been moved and touched by God in so many ways. I continue to try to be obedient and disciplined, in order to really live out the life God has planned for me. A plan that is well underway but that is full of struggles for me personally. I feel that God has put this mission through World Race in my life as a great adventure and stepping stone in my Christian journey. After so long I have finally decided to fight the fear of the future and just trust in what the Lord may have for me. And so, here I go…
