well here i am.
laying in my bottom bunk bed.
reflecting on the first half of our first ministry day in india and waiting to leave for our next activity.
it’s all still very surreal to me.
i’m in india right now.
what?
ha.

let’s go back to our launch/travel days for a sec.

we left our atlanta hotel at four a.m. on the ninth.
hung out on the floor of the check in area at the airport for a good while because they wanted to charge us fifty extra dollars per person to check our bags all the way to india.
finally was able to check in our stuff and get to our gate.
flew to jfk.
spend another couple hours figuring out what were doing once in the airport.
boarded our plane and took off for india.
made an emergency landing in oslo, norway because a man was having heart complications.
sat on the runway for about four hours before we were able to take off and be on our way to new delhi.
arrived in delhi and missed our connecting flight to bangalore because of the emergency landing in norway.
stayed in a hotel by the airport that was straight out of a horror movie.
made our way to the airport the next morning and boarded our flight to bangalore, where we would be staying for the next three weeks.
landed in bangalore, got our packs and realized a teammate’s bag had been misplaced in new delhi.
still haven’t found the bag (believe with us that it will appear soon).
got on a van and headed to what would be our home in india.

that was fifty hours of travel.

….

a week later I’m still trying to finish this blog.

it has now been twelve days since we arrived and it feels like we’ve been here a month.
not because of anything bad.
we have a great little pink house with two rooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a roof.
we love it.
we have been doing ministry every day except on our day off which is on tuesday.

i guess i don’t really know what else to share about this first week and a half.
i have enjoyed every day of being here, getting to know people, experiencing new things and new food.
i feel very fortunate to be in this country and getting to know what india is all about and with amazing people who love Jesus, traveling, and are willing to do anything for the kingdom of God.

>>prayer points<<

no sickness for myself or the team

becoming closer and closer to Jesus

unity within the team/squad

that the seeds we sow here would reap a great harvest

for people to see Jesus in us with everything we say and do

Thank you for following this journey, praying and supporting me.

I am still in need of the second half of my funds for this trip.

please prayerfully consider sowing into my trip and sharing this need with others.

sending my love to you all from india!

p.s. i found out my right leg was shorter than my left so my team prayed for me and we saw my right leg literally grow out and now it’s even with my left. yeah i know! what? God is so cool! 🙂
