Our host from last month in Zimbabwe sent our team some updates and testimonies from some of the amazing people we were able to minister to last month with Youth For Christ. We wanted to share them with you to give you glimpse into our month and what all of you had a hand in through praying and supporting us and through donating towards the Bibles we were able to distribute.
(Note: We had to slightly change some of the words/grammar for easier reading, but we tried to keep them as original as possible.)Anesu Chatyoka
My name is Anesu Chatyoka and I am a girl aged 17. I am a form four student at Chinhoyi High School. Earlier this year when I went for my prefect’s training I met people from Youth For Christ Zimbabwe who came and facilitated and trained us in our leadership roles and skills as prefects. Through their teachings and ministering I just wanted to know more about Christ and God.
On the 16th of April Brother Edward came with missionaries from USA and the four of them further explained who Jesus was and how relevant and important He is to my life that’s when I gave my life to Jesus that day and I also received my personal copy of the bible, they also invited me to Celebration church.
I went to church and the preaching the pastor gave was like it was meant for me, I listened and it helped me understand some things and answer some questions about my life, I learned to forgive and decided to focus on my future leaving the rest to God. This is helping because now I am able to fully focus so I can achieve my goal and realize my dream of becoming an architect.
Wayne Makwinji
Here is Wayne Makwinji from Alaska Mine. He is 15 years of age. Wayne has never owned a bible since he was born. He goes to Anglican church. “Since I received the Bible I have began to read. Now I know if a person sins against me I must forgive them. And I am very happy to have my own copy of the bible. When I finish school I want to become a doctor and I will also use the word on my patients.”
Ropafadzo Joro
My name is Ropafadzo Joro age 14. I just want to thank God for the life He gave. I never knew that they are some people who are there for me. People who are sent to change my life. When we were at Bethel I learned a lot that helped me to be different from I was before. I learned to pray read my bible for me to be close to Jesus Christ. From the day I started doing this my life has changed. If i pray I will really feel that my prayer is answered. I pray that I will not depart from the way that God has brought and set me in. I do not want to go astray or out of His will and presence in my life. When we were at the movie zone we had a good time. We watched a movie called War Room. We learnt to have a secret place. We learnt to have faith and also to know that Jesus is the answer to every problem. Also learnt the importance of praying for others.
