About Us: Hey y’all, we’re Jonathan and Devon Carothers! We’ve been married since April 2015, and we are one of those love-at-first-sight kind of couples. We met for a semi-blind date in February 2014, and we’ve never looked back! With Jonathan’s 4 siblings and their spouses, we have 7 brothers and sisters who we love to spend time with, and we’re the proud aunt and uncle of 2 adorable nephews and a beautiful niece on the way. We are a typical Southern family where there’s always friends and family around. We’re also the proud parents of our 2-years-old German Shorthaired Pointer, Sam.
We live on the MS Gulf Coast in a small town called Pass Christian where we really get to enjoy the outdoors including riding our super-cool tandem bike down the beach, fishing, kayaking, eating fresh seafood, and everything in between. Traveling, trying new food and drinks, and cooking together are a few more of our favorite things to do. Currently, we both serve on the media team at our amazing church, Northwood. It’s a great honor to be a part of this team where we get to explore our interests in media while serving the Lord.
About Jonathan: I’m is a sales manager at Elite Screen Printing in Gulfport, MS, a custom printed t-shirt company that my oldest 2 brothers own. I grew up moving around Mississippi with my dad’s job as a Methodist minister, but I spent my high school years in Greenville. My mom is a internationally recognized lactation expert which has always kept her busy traveling all over the world. I’m the youngest of 5 kids, 4 boys and 1 girl. I enjoy fixing things, playing Xbox, grilling, and playing water volleyball.
About Devon: I work for the Navy at the Oceanographic Office at Stennis Space Center, MS. I was born and raised in Pass Christian, and Jonathan and I actually now live in my childhood home. My dad owns a small construction company, and my mom is an elementary school teacher. I’m technically an only child, but I grew up with a very close family where my cousins were more like siblings. I enjoy being barefoot, reading a good book, enjoying a good cup of coffee, and taking photos.
We are so excited about this World Race adventure, and it is something we have been praying about for months. We know that this will be an amazing opportunity to be the hands and feet of the Lord, to share His love with those all around the world, and it will be a season of growth for us. Our prayer is always be obedient to the Lord, and we truly believe this is His calling for us at this point in our life. Missions is something that we have talked about since the beginning of the relationship and something we feel passionate about. We can’t wait to see what is in store for us! Please ask us any questions, and please keep us in your prayers.
