Stretch Me Beyond My Confidence
Coming into training camp I sincerely didn’t know what to expect and even though I read other’s Racers blogs regarding the matter I understood that everyone’s story is narrated different. Expectations in some areas of life are good, but sometimes we have to free ourselves of them so we can let God do His work through us freely and no resistance. Advise to future Racers? Come towards the Race with no expectations no agenda (World Race really begins at Training Camp). For some this will take them out of their comfort level but if we accepted this God’s calling then we should free ourselves and put all our trust and faith in Him.
“Stretch me beyond my confidence.” That’s one of the things I asked God to do throughout the World Race. Although I felt good where I was spiritually I felt like I was in a spiritual plateau. Something had to be done and I went for it. Did He have to wait until I was out in the world to do so? Not sure, but one thing for sure is that He didn’t wait. Through out this week I was consistently drawn out of my comfort level physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I was consistently being push to what I thought it was my limit. “No más please” it was what my brain was screaming. Thankfully He has always looked upon the will of my heart and my soul. After everything has settled He showed me that I am more strong than I belief, I am more loved than I belief, I am more forgiven than I belief, and that I am more capable than I belief. I stride today with a confidence bigger and stronger than a week ago a confidence that only He knows how to provide and shape.
He stretched me and He strengthened me.
The beauty of it is that He is not done. He has more stretching and strengthening to do with me.
