Finish Your Race Sprinting!
Dear World Racers,
A long long time ago while in the land of Far Far Away. Sitting you were, living the ‘normal’ life, looking at the horizons and wondering if there’s more beyond what the eyes can catch. Coffee mugs, desks, clocks, couches, pencils, exams, midterms, morning vehicles warm ups, traffic, bills, make-up, what should I wear, were part of the routine. Along a Man came by as you were staring at the horizons. You already knew Him but still He introduced Himself. Before you were able to speak He saw the question in your eyes and heart…He always does. He answered “You are hired. Follow me. (Matthew 4:19)” The things that you valued then the most were left behind. Excitement didn’t even fit to describe the inner feelings. You knew you were in for an incredible journey that not many are willing to embark on (Luke 10:2). You knew this journey was going to be unlike any other journey you been part of.
Now into month seven of the journey perhaps the novelty has worn off. Sure, lots of incredible stories has developed since then. In lots of darkness your feet has stepped on and into brightness they became. Plenty of miracles your eyes has witness. Your knowledge and wisdom has grown beyond you or anyone can fathom. Your eyes, body, heart, mind and soul will never be the same. But with a dragging feet and soul now, brokenness, darkness, long traveling hours, healing, miracles, hammocks, bucket showers, prayers, captives freeing, unsettledness, children smiles, has become the routine. They all have become such normality that maybe the excitement and amazedness doesn’t match to when you started the journey. However, ask yourself, is it really what you been hired to do normal? Seriously, ask yourself now and every morning: “Where am I? What I get to do? Who do I work for?” and then “Where I was? What did I get to do? Who do I worked for?”
Reality is what you do is not normal. Even into month seven what you get to do is pretty rad. Wake up! Four months are left in this incredible maybe once-in-a-lifetime journey. Soak in the blessing that is to be in the country, city, village you are in. The blessing that is to produce children laughter, freeing the heart and souls of prisons, teaching and showing the people you meet about God’s love, hugging those who steals your heart. The blessing that is to be called upon by God and work for the greatest Employee there will ever be. An Employee that deeply loves you, deeply cares about you, and deeply wants the very best for you. Get up and run! Don’t finish your Race dragging, walking, or jogging. Finish your Race strong! Finish your Race sprinting! From this point forward give it all you got! Don’t have the strength to pick up one more child? Ask God for it! He will give it to you and your heart and the child’s heart will be rewarded (2 Tim 4:7-8).
May God continue blessing you for the rest of your journey.
