Time surely does fly when you are having fun! I can’t believe in a few days we will be headed to Mozambique for month 7 of The World Race! It looks like we will be working with an organization called Africa On Fire and Houses of Hope. They are located 3 hours north of Maputo (the capital) in a town called Chibuto. A big prayer request from our side would be protection from the mosquitoes. It is the rainy season in Mozambique, which means mosquitoes and MALARIA! We will be taking our medicine, but we ask for more prayer protection that we do not become infected.

I know we have not had a chance to blog as much as we would like, so, I will recap our time since our last post.

  • Team Lion Heart now has 7 certified weed pullers on the team. Who knows, when we get back to the states and have no clue what we are doing- let us pull your weeds! We rock at it.
  • We went on a real Africa Safari! We saw 2 female lions, monkey, zebra, hippos, giraffe, impalas, and lots of other animals! It was really a lot of fun. We were glad to get out and experience a little bit of South Africa for a day.
  • On New Years Eve, we had an awesome time of worship, communion, and prophesy with our contacts around a bonfire. What a way to ring in 2012!
  • Our awesome team put on a date night for Jamos and I! It was our Christmas gift and it was truly a fabulous time for Jamos and I! We followed a petal path to our dinner table, which was set with candles. We felt really loved by our team.
  • Instead of cats, we now have 2 twin female goats roaming around our backyard. They are so sweet and always want to enter the BEAM House to see what we are doing. It has made me want a goat when I get back to the states!
  • Teammates, Alison and Olivia are now FULLY FUNDED and get to stay with us on the race. They have met the 6-month financial deadline.
  • We may have asked a construction worker who was using a large backhoe thing with a bucket to fill our truck with dirt! And, he did! It was amazing. It did save us some shoveling power since normally we get the dirt from the side of the road.
  • Lindsey mowed the grass on the property with an electric lawn mower. Think of it like vacuuming with a cord you always have to move to not run over!
  • We were able to visit the Union Buildings in downtown Pretoria and have a picnic in the park on our day off. If you have seen the movie Invictus, you will see where we were!
  • As a team, we were able to cook a romantic dinner for our contacts, Louis and Ericka! We used a lot of candles and wildflowers. It was so fun to bless them in that way.
