As this race draws closer with every passing day, so does my excitement and in those vulnerable moments doubt.

Philippians 2:14 in the Message says:
“Do everything readily and cheerfully – no bickering, no second-guessing allowed!  Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society.  Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God”.

Fundraising for this race has been somewhat difficult for Emily and I.  Things started out quickly which was to our surprise and great for our spirits.  After reaching the halfway point things have slowed immensely.  Having to raise double the finances some days seems impossible and I know that this doubt can be attributed to the devil.  It is at this point that I truly believe that we have hit the “proverbial wall,” the point at which you do not think you can continue in a race.  The point where you must remain persistence and continue to push forward in anyway you can, just as long as you do not stop.  It is at this junction where it feels as if we have exhausted our resources, and fundraised to the max!

No matter the doubt, the devils presence, or the proverbial wall… Emily and I we know how BIG and MIGHTY our GOD is!  We continue to push on through this proverbial wall with faith and trust that GOD will deliver as needed.

God has provided this passion, desire, and willingness to go in both of our hearts.  We understand that SO MANY people would love to go and serve in a similar capacity, but canNOT for one reason or another.  Well, we would urge you to prayerfully consider supporting Emily and myself to go and do the work.  In my experience there are two ways to do missions (1) be the people that go and (2) to be the people who make it possible for those who do go.

There are many ways for people to support us and many have done so already.  Em and I are currently 58% funded, which is AMAZING!!  Meeting the financial deadlines continue to be one of the most critical areas of support that we need.  Being 58% funded has continued to reaffirm our decision to pursue this opportunity, but that still leaves almost $14,000 that we need to raise.

Both Emily and I want to ensure that we do our part to make sure that we use this opportunity to make the BIGGEST impact as we can.  This proverbial wall just like in running seems to bring a moment of weakness and doubt that we attribute to the devil, and as Emily and myself continue to press on with our fundraising at a slower pace, we want to breakthrough this temporary wall with increasing speed so that we can continue to run the race that the Lord has marked out for us.  Help us finish STRONG and minister to as many people as we can.

"Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."  Hebrews 12:1

Reverting to our financial goal for another moment, Em and I feel like we has saturated our friends, family and strangers in our circle of influence for support, fundraising, and prayer.  Therefore we are asking for you HELP!!!  If you know someone that might be able to help us financially pass on our information to them or send us their contact information and we would be more than happy to send them a letter with a summary of what we will be doing, prayer card and info on how they can support us.  OR if you know someone that may benefit or enjoy hearing about our thoughts, experiences, and God’s work… SIMPLY go on or get them to go to the LEFT HAND column of our blog and put their email address in the space labeled “Subscribe for Blog Updates:”  This will help us to use this opportunity that God has given us to affect more lives here and AROUND the WORLD!

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17
