The time has come again for me to tell you that month 7 of the World Race is OVER and we are headed to month 8 in Swaziland!
If you haven’t noticed, Swaziland is a very small country located in the middle of South Africa! It is estimated that in the next 50 years this country will not exist anymore because of AIDS.
This month our team will be working at El Shaddai Children's Home. An idea of what we will be doing this month: Serving the orphan community of El Shaddai in various ways. Helping with farming and feeding programs. Teaching and Helping at local school. Possible construction and painting. Preaching/Teaching/Encouraging at the local church. Evangelizing to local widows and families in community.
This month we will also be with 2 other teams. I get to be with a few members of my first team on the World Race- Team Powerful Whisper (Nicole and Nick).
I think our ministry location is outside of the capital of Swaziland- but I am not really sure. I do not know if we will have Internet this month or if Internet will be as scarce as it has been in Mozambique and South Africa.
I have quite a few praises of this month so I will share them here.
- So far, no Malaria for my team here in Maputo. We are thankful for a month of GOOD health- even with an abundance of mosquitoes.
- The opportunity to experience more of God working- healing the sick. It is a reminder that God is still working and using normal people like ME to perform miracles. You can do it too. Just ask God!
- Realizing that we are headed to month 8 with only 1 more continent left on the World Race. C R A Z Y.
- Being fully funded!
- Safety as we traveled around Mozambique in the back of truck and the opportunity to see more of the country.
- Being around Issachar, a 2 year old that we live with. Jamos and I had so much fun playing with him this month!
A few prayer requests I have:
- We are headed to month 8 of the World Race- and that means thoughts of returning home are flooding our minds. We need prayer that God allows our brains to be focused on ministry and not the sheer panic of what we are doing when we get back to the states (where to live, where to work, etc.,)
- We will soon start a small process to look for a job when we get back. If you know of anything, please let us know!
- After Swaziland, we are headed to ASIA. Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia.
- We are getting tired. Eating rice. The hot sun. Lots of walking. No place to rest comfortably. It all makes a human tired. We need prayer for continued strength as we keep serving others to the best of our ability.
