Yup, you read it correctly, we are going to be eating peaches down in the south!
We are moving to Gainesville, GA to join the staff at Adventures in Missions (AIM), the parent organization to The World Race!
My (Emily) role within the organization is to serve as Marketing Coordinator. AIM has 8+ different mission programs (college age, high school, World Race, family trips, etc.,) and I will be the “go to gal” for the clients of AIM (those departments) and our marketing department. Basically, I will get to use my winning customer service skills while working with a creative team!
Jamos is also joining the staff at AIM. He is taking part in their new school- called the Center for Global Action (CGA). This is a new venture for AIM- but they wanted a school where World Racers can figure out how they just got wrecked for Jesus on the race and how to use their gifts/talents/dreams for future Kingdom work!
He will be working on the pilot program for emerging leaders. This set of courses are designed for those who held leadership responsibilities while on the World Race- to learn and be mentored from top leadership. He will also serve to develop this course for the future success of the program.
Jamos and I have looked into the eyes of orphans.
We have seen injustice around the globe.
We want to keep making a difference. It is time for action.
We want to serve using our academic backgrounds and skills to create change in the world!
Yes, it means sacrifice according to ‘1st world’ standards.
But to us, it is a privilege.
For the last 334 days God wrecked us in 3rd world countries.
Really, he did.
He showed us that life is not about us.
It is about Him.
So, for the next 334 (plus) days we will continue to be wrecked by God in Georgia.
Will you join us?
We had so much fun with you last year and really could NOT have done it without you.
Do you remember when you snuggled orphans in Swaziland and watched God heal people in Mozambique?
Do you remember teaching English?
Or, purely loving those girls and women enslaved in sex trade in Asia?
I do. You were there too. Everywhere we go- as our supporter, you go too.
Please come!
We need YOU.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Are we ready for a desk job? I think so! I am excited to gain marketing knowledge and work for an organization that is sending out hundreds of missionaries each year to reach the unreached for Christ. And Jamos is excited to gain leadership experience and for the chance to be mentored by top leadership in Christian communities. There may be opportunities for us to lead short-term trips too!
So, you are moving to GA? Yes, we are moving to GA! Currently in process of finding a place to set up our home there, but GA will be our new home for the time being!
Do you have to raise support? Yes, just like when we were on the field among the nations- we had to raise support and we will have to do that again- just living stateside. Our job is now ministry- we are just using our skills for an organization that is equipping thousands to reach the nations for Christ!
How can I financially support you? Great question! There are many ways you can show your support financially- obviously, contribute to us by clicking on the SUPPORT US tab and donate. No amount is too small.
If you want a greater challenge, be a MONTHLY donor!
If you love couponing-use that as your ministry to us- we need soap and shampoo too! Or, if you like selling stuff, have a garage sale on our behalf! We need your help!
Do you know where you are living yet? Not yet, we are working on that!
When will you start? Jamos’ classes at the CGA start on September 10 and I will start mid-to late August in the Marketing department. A lot depends on when we find housing, etc.,
