Hello from Bangkok Thailand! We had a successful journey from South Africa thru Qatar to Bangkok! We had great flights – which I am praising Jesus for!
We have been here in Bangkok, staying at the YWAM (Youth With A Mission) base for our 8-month squad debrief. Our old squad leaders flew in- just to check in with us and make sure our teams are healthy and focused on the next 3 months of this race. It has been a blessing so far and we have also gotten to see a bit of Bangkok, which is great!
This month, which is month 9 (CRAZY!) Jamos and I will actually be apart! Don’t worry, we agreed to this adventure because of the opportunities we have apart. I was asked to be a team leader for this month to a new set of girls! There are 7 of us- and we will be in Chang Mai- (20 hours north of Bangkok) working with Lighthouse Ministries- which is a bar ministry- in the Red Light Districts of Chang Mai.
Jamos will be headed off to what we call “MAN-istry” month. All men on the squad will be together bonding in the jungles of Thailand (maybe?) on the border of Burma.
We request your prayers for the next month! Obviously, prayers for us as we are apart, for safety, etc., but, prayer for me as a leader and my girls on my new team- that we will be able to help these girls see that sex/human trafficking is NOT all their life can be. They were made for MORE in this life and we want to share with them that they are PRICELESS. The God of the nations- the maker of HEAVEN and EARTH LOVES them! They are his princesses and deserve to be treated accordingly.
I don’t know much more about our ministries, but I hope we have more Internet than we had in Africa- so that I can keep you in the loop!
