Hello! If you are reading this, there’s a good chance we already know each other, and you may already know all of the following about me. Nevertheless, here are a few things about me:

  1. I gave my life to Jesus Christ when I was four. I believe that I really did understand the significance of that moment, even at such a young age, and it has changed the course of my entire life. Though not without some hills and valleys, life with Jesus has been so, so sweet!

  1. I’m an old soul. I want to learn how to cross-stitch. The book character with whom I most closely identify is Anne of Green Gables. I yearn for deep, meaningful relationships and a slower-paced life. I own a Cracker Barrel rocking chair. See? I’m an old soul.

  1. Lavender is my favorite color, scent, and flavor.

  1. I’m an avid adventurer, but I am also a homebody. Southwest Missouri has my heart, and returning home after a trip is one of my favorite things. I’m already preparing myself for the homesickness that is going to occur (but be worth it) during the World Race.

  2. I’m a night owl by default, but mornings are my favorite time of day. That’s an unfortunate combination. My goal is to one day become a morning person so that I’m actually awake for my favorite time of the day.

  3. One of the things I’m most passionate about is mentorship. I know the difference it made in my life to have adult role models who took a sincere interest in my life when I was a teenager, and I want that for all kids and teens. Our world would be a different place if people had someone older and wiser than them in their corner to teach, support, love, and encourage them.

  4. I wish I could start a movement to save the handwritten note. Words are so powerful, and there is something so special about someone taking the time to write a note versus sending a text message, direct message, or email.

  5. Many people assume that I am an extrovert because I am very outgoing. However, after reading about introverts and extroverts a few years ago, I realized that my perception of what those two types of people are was fairly misinformed, and I definitely have introverted tendencies. I love being around people, but if I don’t have a fair amount of time alone, my battery runs out.

  6. Sunrises. Sunsets. Sun. Moon. Stars. Flowers (especially wild ones). Trees. Mountains. Lakes. Rivers. Rocky coasts. Fields. Clouds. Blue skies. Grey skies. Pink skies. I love them all, and I am in my happiest state when I am outside because nature is where I feel the closest to God. In it, I am astounded by the intricacies of God’s marvelous handiwork, reminded of how small I am and how big (and GOOD) He is, and excited that I get to live in and explore such a splendid place.

  7. If I’m not at church or school or outside, you can probably find me hanging out at a local coffee shop.

Well, that’s probably more than enough for now.

Thank you for being a part of this journey.

Xo,

Jami
