Hi my name is Jamilyn Joy Cummings and I am really close to my family. That may not be a secret to some of you, but the past week has been quite the emotional trip having to say goodbye to my family members.
It sometimes felt like my heart ripping out as I hugged my brothers and sister in law goodbye. And just yesterday I said my last goodbyes to my parents who road tripped with me all the way from California to Georgia and got to take part in some parts of my World Race Launch.
I haven’t really had time to process because it just feels like I will see them next week. Hard to believe it will be a whole year till I get to hug them again. What has really helped me process these goodbyes is making this video.
To my family, I love you so much. Thank you for all the encouragement and support you have given me over the past year in preparation for the World Race. I would not be here, about to leave for Haiti if it wasn’t for you. I have no other words but this video to give you. Thank you. With every fiber of my being. Thank you. I carry you with me.
