Arrived in Costa Rica and met with our host Vanessa at Transforma. Our house is located roughly 20mins outside of San Jose. The site we’re staying at has hot water for showers, markets within walking distance, Taco Bell within walking distance, massage chairs, sewing machines, a full kitchen with an oven, a patio with a gorgeous view, cooler temperatures seeing we’re up in the mountain region, shelving, 7 indoor bathrooms with mirrors, more privacy, and a washing machine! I’m worried about going into the red light district will actually look like for me and how much healing it will actually bring me.
Ministry has taken on a whole new definition for me this month. I never considered cutting fabric or entering data as a ministry opportunity but now I do. I’ve learned that anything can be a ministry opportunity if your heart is in the right place behind it otherwise it is just work and you’re missing out on the ultimate goal- which is loving and serving each other well. I’ve found that the mundane things that I took for granted back in the States have become my ministry here at Transforma. Things like cutting fabric, cooking meals, playing with kids, giving someone a massage, or even just sitting down and talking to someone while I practice my spanish and they practice their english. All of these things have become ministry now. The blinders are off and I’m grateful for that. No more selfish thinking about being too busy or not having a heart for ministry when ministry has officially become everyday life. They told us at training camo that ministry is everyday life and I honestly didn’t understand what they were saying until now.
God has been molding and shaping me my entire life for Transforma. I just didn’t know or understand wh, I still don’t. However, that’s the beauty of it. It’s not my job to figure out how God is going to use me or my skillset. My job is to show up with a servant attitude and a willing heart- that’s it. The blinders are off. For the first time in my life I can see the beauty in things I once considered tedious and for that I’m forever grateful. Yes, my team and I have only been in Costa Rica for less than a week but just seeing in myself and in my teammates how God has shifted our mindset and perspectives is inspiring for what He has yet to bring us into throughout the rest if this month as well of the remaining year.
While we help prepare for the classes getting ready to start this upcoming week I’m reminded daily of God’s overflowing love and support He has for His people. The women I’ve meet have welcomed me in with loving arms and the groundwork for lasting relationships are being laid. Please consider donating to help get me fully funded so that I may continue loving, growing, and learning what the true meaning of ministry is. I’m currently $2,670 away from being fully funded. If you would like to give please click on the donate button on your screen.
As always thank you for donating and for your prayers and support. I’ll update you all agaun soon. Much love to you all!!!
