Hey ya’ll!!! Just to give you guys a quick update. Yes I’m still in the states. I’m in Gainesville, GA for roughly 6 more days. Then my fabulous squad and myself will get on a plane and fly to Nicaragua!!! That’s sounds kind of intimidating but I couldn’t be more thrilled to serve alongside my team and squadmates!
So I’ve been in training camp since Wednesday June 5th. We arrived around 3:30pm which back home it’s 2:30. It started raining on the drive over from Atlanta and really hasn’t stopped since. So my tent is soaked!!! The inside is dry so that’s amazing!! I’m not going to go into too much detail about training camp but bucket showers are freezing!!! Basically you fill up a 5gal bucket with water from a garden hose and use a liquid measuring cup to wash your body as well as your hair. No joke, I’ve seriously have only washed my hair once since getting here. Baby wipe showers are fantastic!!!
Today was the first day that we got coffee!!! Granted I totally bought it but at this point I would have paid anything for a cup of coffee. Also I serious miss milk!! We’ve been drinking water with every meal. It’s not bad but I am starting to crave a big glass of ice cold milk right about now. Last night a squadmate (Zane Drager) got the entire squad oreos, chewy chips ahoy and normal chips ahoy. Such an amazing surprise and blessing!!! The reason for it…the Holy Spirit told him to. So grateful for his obedience even if it was literally getting the squad cookies, he still follwed through with what the Holy Spirit told him to do.
Anyway, we got our team assigned last night and I am super excited to see how God uses my team these next several months. I’ve been partnered up with 5 amazing Godly women who will challenge me throughout this year. No joke its going to be a fabulous year.
Please be praying for all of us. Our endurance hike is Tuesday morning and the hill is literally painful to walk up let alone run down, but trusting God to see us through it. Please be in prayer for my ongoing fundraising. I still have $3,512 to raise before I’m fully funded. Not sure what fundraising from the field will look like but I’m not worried about it. I’ve been called, I’ve answered the call and He will cover the bill!!!
