Hey guys! Sorry it’s been a little bit since my last update. We’ve been without wifi for the past month. A lot has happened, so our the next several days I’ll be posting lots of blogs to inform you how Morocco and Ethiopia went. Here’s one major change that happened in Morocco: on October 16th Groot found out that, after five months together, we were having team changes. We heard the news around midnight amd my ENTIRE team climbed into Gabby’s and my bed to talk through how wecfelt about the upcoming team changes. Tears were shed and emotions were flying all over the place. None of us slept well that night. Afterwards, everyone was drained and exhausted so we prayed and the others went back to their rooms to sleep. I, however, went to the living room and spent some time laying on the couch, trying to process everything that wS just revealed to us in the last 24hrs. What many of you do not know about me is that I’m a poet and the best way for me to express how I’m doing is to write it all down. So I’m going to share with you guys the piece I wrote the night we found out about team changes. Enjoy.
One Day
Outside I hear the
Spund of tires screeching on the street
They echo the words of my heart
We couldn’t last forever
However I wasn’t ready for goodbye
Heart breaking
Longing for more time
Slamming on the brakes
Praying that everything will slow down
Knowing that in the morning
We’ll be one day clpser to parting
One day closer to farewell
The hurts that were said
Seem so unimportant now
Why did I allow so much time to go by
Brakes engaged
Sending me skidding down the road
Unwillingly moving
Hoping to avoid the inevitable
Knowing that no matter what
We’re still one day closer
The sound of the crash
Reflecting the crashing of my heart
Tears streaming endlessly
Soon this season will be over
And another season will begin
One day it’ll all be a blur
For now it’s an aching in my heart.
Hope you all enjoyed this piece. It’s definitely different than my other blogs. More updates are coming from Morocco and Ethiopia. So stay tuned and be on the lookout. Much love guys!
Also several of my Groot family are still fundraising. I’ll give you guys an intro to my new ream, Edge, shortly. Comment below and let me know how you guys liked this blog style compared to my normal style. Bye guys.
