Hey guys! So a few weeks ago my team said good bye to two of our seven. So we are now a team of five. Shortly after that we said goodbye to another friend. So this blog is dedicated to them. Here’s another piece that I wrote about saying goodbye to them. It’s titled Farewell.
How can I explain the pain I felt when we had to say farewell?
My heart breaking as we all huddled together
I knew it was coming
I had known for weeks
So why did it hurt so much
When it came to pass
One final hug goodbye before
We left you standing in the terminal
Walking down the tarmac
Tears silently rolling down my face
I turn around slowly
Only to see you waving goodbye
My eyes became bloodshot
Too much had happened for you come
Yet saying farewell to you
Was the hardest thing so far
Now you’re gone and
My heart still aches
But hearing we heard right
Is all the conformation I’ll ever need.
Why did that dream have to come true?
