We’re so lucky. We have clean air (and western toilets!) We get to go to church whenever we want. We can go to Sunday service, bible studies, and we can meet together for fellowship and ministry. We can claim Christianity and Christ as our Savior.  We get to celebrate Christmas and Christmas can mean more than presents, a Christmas tree, and a perfect dinner.

China is a communist country. The population in China is 1,344,130,000 (The U.S.) only has 311,591,917. There are so many people that it’s easy to feel insignificant. Oppression and depression covers the country.

There is no pollution control. The sun can barely shine through the smog.

There are no churches in China. It’s illegal for Christians to meet in groups of five or more.  People meet in “underground” churches. Bibles aren’t sold in China. Christmas is celebrated with decorations and Santa but there is literally no meaning behind it other than a little marketing to boost sales.

Jesus is unknown.

BUT THAT DIDN’T STOP US!

In China I was reminded this verse…

"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.” Luke 11:33-35

AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT US WORLD RACERS DID! Friendships were formed and the love of Jesus was shared. China is a beautiful country with so much hope and more freedom to come. We were a light to China!
