More on launch…

After a few days in Chicago, we took a flight from Chicago to JFK that arrived around midnight. Instead of spending the night in the airport, a huge group of us spent the entire night and morning wandering the city visiting Time Square, Rockefeller Center, and watching the sunrise on the Brooklyn Bridge. I think we got back to the terminal around 9am – We were all so tired and goofy – It was some good bonding time for us. (I still am laughing at what we were talking about on the subway back to the airport – Jillian Deas, Ben Stahl, & Laine Armour)

I have an AMAZING team – Happy 23rd birthday to the baby of our team, Jillian Deas.

From JFK, we flew to Atlanta. From Atlanta, we took a 17-hour flight to Johannesburg, South Africa on the second longest flight in the world. Honestly it wasn’t anywhere close to how bad I thought it would be. Better than any domestic flight I’ve ever taken. I think I tried to watch four movies but fell asleep five minutes into all of them – Shout out to Dramamine!

Adam Mollica woke me up for the important moments during the flight – dinner & breakfast. Swollen, pregnant lady feet were the worst part.

From the airport, we came straight to our ministry site, called Soccer 4 Kids in a huge passenger bus.  It was dark so driving through Johannesburg that there was so much mystery in what the morning would bring on (but you’ll just have to wait for the next blog for that!).

World Race is all about hurry up and then… wait! It’s all about uncertainty and the unknown but everyday, I’m reminded that God is a gentlemen and He’s only going to give me what I can handle. Seriously there is so much truth in that.
