I will not stay SILENT!

This month Month 8. Sometimes it never seemed like this month would come. To be more than then half way finished with the race. When people ask where else we are going I only list three countries. Malaysia. Moldova. Romania. 3 Countries. So in the excitement of Month 8 and the rumors that we will find out this month where we are landing and when we are landing. I allowed myself to be swept away. Envisioning life at home, a nice apartment, new furniture, the church I will go to, the clothes I will get to where to work, how I will get to work. What city I will live in. Chicago. Washington D.C. San Francisco. It was even easier as I spent 4 days in bed with a killer stomach bug to imagine home. America. Nice Furniture. Wi-Fi. A Car. My favorite restaurants.

And for a moment I forgot why I am here.

I came on the world race to set the captives free, to bring the Good News of CHRIST to the broken, to bring hope to the hopeless, to bring love to those who believe they are forgotten.   To tell those woman trapped in prostitution they are loved, they are worthy, they matter, they are so much more than SEX.

This morning during my quiet time with the Lord, I looked up a few bible verses on pinterest. And as I looked at Adventures in Missions board about things that are not Ok I came across a few pictures about Human Trafficking and I was reminded that no nice office, no luxury apartment, no restaurant, not even me being in close proximity to my family and friends matters as much as CHANGE.

We can’t forget the women who we met in Thailand. They are just like your daughters, granddaughters, sisters, best friends, and nieces. When meeting one young woman in Thailand I was struck by the fact that she looked just like any one of my friends in college wearing a t-shirt and shorts she is no different and she should be free.

We need to be the generation that says enough. There are more people trapped in slavery then ever before and that is NOT OKAY. It is time to stand up and say no. To truly set the captives free. To free those woman and children who don’t believe they have a chance. I will not stay silent I won’t sit in some cushy office of Bank of America wondering if I could have done something better I will stand up and say NO MORE. It is time.

This is a call to our generation. Will you stay Silent? Or will you make a stand and not allow another man, woman, or child to be a statistic.
