Our ministry in Peru is taking place in Porvenir, Peru which is a district outside the city of Trujillo. It is a small area only about 14.2 square miles.
Our ministry will involve children and youth doing Vacation Bible Schools and youth outreach. We also have the opportunity to do dump ministry which involves going to this huge dump in Trujillo and ministering to the people there. It should be interesting. We will also be doing some construction (again) at an adventure camp.
Trujillo is the 3rd largest city in Peru with a population of over 811,000. It was one of the first cities discovered by Spanish conquerors way back when.
Trujillo has a desert climate with temperatures of 90 degrees in the summer and coolest is 57 degrees in the winter. We will be there during the spring, so it should begin warming up.
I am excited for this month outside of Trujillo, I know God will do some amazing thing in our lives and in the lives of the children and youth that we get to work with.
